Stunix is teaching COMSC-173 this semester, which means that I’m adding it to my schedule and will be going to class later tonight. Scripting is an art that I’ve always wanted to learn about, and eventually become proficient in. Many jobs ask for this skill. The class runs in conjunction with the [...]

My friend Colin and I went to pick up our new raft today. I think we christened it “Big Blue” after their first blue raft (which was a 16-footer). This is a 14-foot raft. At first, it looked like it was bigger than “The Beast.” But after we put them side [...]

It’s like a hill that you’re always climbing. As you live your athletic life, you climb the hill, and as you get to the top, you slip down the other side. Once you realize that you’ve lost some elevation, you turn around and try and climb back up to the top. And [...]

Meining Cheung’s creativity is beyond me, but at least I can always listen to her music. Here’s something she put together for class:

This weekend I had the sad duty of paying my respects to an old departed friend of mine. He left before his time, and without a word to his friends.
When we arrived at the hotel, I arranged to have Judy go with us to see Lam. The next day, we met Judy at [...]

It seems like this version (2.0.2) of WordPress is buggy. There are formatting issues like the one below this post that warrant an upgrade. I’ve already filed for a fix at StartLogic. Hopefully, they’ll fix it. Either that, or they’ll just pawn it off like their password problems. Crossing my [...]

This week I have DJ StatZ whom I’ve known for a long time and mixes music at home in his computer. The stuff he makes is really impressive. He also plays the bass guitar and is a very skilled graphic artist. He’s one in a million, I tell ya! Anyway, without [...]

I was able to get a copy of the Garmin MapSource Topo US CD, and uploaded a few regions to the GPS. I must admit, I’m impressed:
Increased terrain detail from the base maps
Streets and highways, major ones having names
Increased detail of hydrological bodies such as creeks and rivers
Topographical information
Points of interest
Covers the western half [...]

The BIND parsing problem got fixed last weekend, but after going through a topology plan, it seems like it will require an additional router for my network to support a DNS server. Therefore, this project will be put on the shelf once again.
In other news, my domain name acquisition attempts always end [...]
